HTML Intro

What I Want to Learn:

1. What is a type declaration?

2. Why do you need to use brackets?

3. What are markup tags?

What I Learned:

1. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.

2. HTML documents are described by HTML tags.

What I'm Concerned About Making a Webpage:

1. I might mess up the tag names.

Other New Codes

I liked Sean Conroy and Adam Joos' new binary codes. They both give a good representation of the numbers that they are supposed to symbol and they are easy to follow.

Sean Conroy's New Binary Code:
My message using Sean's: *%***  **%*%  %%**%  *****  *%***  *%%%%  %*%*%  *****  ****%  %**%*  **%*%  *****  **%**  **%*%  *%**%  *%%%*  **%%%

Adam Joos' New Binary Code:

My Message using Adam's: blank-filled-blank-blank-blank  blank-filled-blank-blank-blank  filled-blank-blank-blank-blank  filled-blank-filled-blank-blank  blank-blank-blank-blank-blank  blank-filled-blank-blank-filled  filled-blank-blank-filled-filled  blank-blank-blank-blank-blank  filled-blank-filled-blank-filled  filled-blank-blank-blank-blank

New Binary Code

$ is on and * is off. $ is like 1 and * is like 0. For example, if you have **$*$ shown, that equals 5. Also, if you need to show 15, you would show *$$$$.

Why Do Computers Use Binary

3 Things I learned:

1. Sound is vibration in the air.
2. A digital signal represents a value as a series of discrete values.
3. Binary is a base 2 numeral system because it uses digits 0 and 1.

2 Things I don't understand well:

1. How a computer uses these numbers.
2. The emphasis on the importance of the number 2.

Something I'd like to know more about:

How is choice the "essence of two-ness?"

Binary Numbers

The highest level I got to on the Binary game was 5. The hardest part of the game was trying to keep up when more rows came up from the bottom. I don't like binary numbers to count with because it takes longer for me to count. You could use each of your fingers as one number. Computers use the numbers as on and off buttons to tell what action to do.

Google Boys Video

Google originated in the late 1990s from only two men, Brim and Page. After the first year of being created, Google had 39 employees. Google is now the standard for how people search things. Since Google has moved forward, two challenges include having to compete with Microsoft and Yahoo. Google is ahead of all it's competition because it of its advertisement. Advertisers pay per click and Google marries search results with Ads so that the advertisements are related to the search words. In order to allow people to make fast searches, Google has a GoogleBot in cyberspace to find all of the information.
