Final Game Reflection

I began the layout of the game by drawing the maze on the background. My problems included how to deduct points and how to say "ouch" when touching the maze lines. I worked through these problems by using sensing blocks. I tested the game by playing it on the project page. I had to go back inside and fix things a few times after testing it, but otherwise it now works how I intended it to. I am most proud of the backgrounds because I created them myself. I am disappointed that I could not figure out how to switch the backgrounds more quickly when each level was won.

Description of My Game

The monkey will have to go through a maze to reach bananas. I will use the banana and monkey sprite. I will choose an outdoors background. The points you have will start at 5 and along the way there will be other foods and if the monkey touches those foods, a point is lost. You must end with at least 1 point, or else you must start from the beginning. When the monkey reaches the bananas, you won the game and the monkey will say "You Won!" There will be 2 levels and the next level will have a frog trying to get a bug. On the second level there will be more food to dodge and the maze will be harder.

Fish Chomper Game Reflection

A variable is a placeholder for a number, represented by blocks. To young kids, I would explain variables as a place where you can fill in whatever number you want.

Other Alphabet Games

Kelsie's game is similar to mine. When you press the letter key, the letter says what it stands for and then changes to that new thing. When the green flag is pressed, the objects turn back into letters. A difference between her game and mine is that my objects are all animals, while hers are not. Nick's game is similar to mine because when you click on the letter, it changes to a different sprite. A difference between our games is that his sprites are Christmas objects, while mine are animals. Also, when you press the letter key, my letter changes to a different sprite, while his doesn't.
